Standing tall in the heart of the capital city, the iconic Taj Mahal, New Delhi has been a proud purveyor of culinary excellence for over three decades now. Varq, the Hotel’s much awarded dining destination, is the birthplace of Modern Indian fine dining. As this world-class restaurant celebrates a glorious decade of authenticity and innovation, our culinary maestros have brought to you an all new artistic gourmet canvas.
One of the first to hone the concept of pre-plated Indian food, Varq offers a modern Indian gourmet dining experience. It has been the one stop dining destination for Michelin Starred Chefs – Chef Sriram Aylur and Chef Srijith Gopinathan and has also celebrated the homecoming of Chef Gaggan Anand.
With cutting-edge creativity at play, Executive Chef Arun Sundararaj has taken Modern Indian food a notch above with distinct flavours, new techniques, ingenious presentations, seasonal delights and usage of organic produce and spices. A host of authentic Indian recipes that were lost back in time have also been revived with unconventional methods of food preparations – one of the methods being dehydration of vital ingredients for rich flavourful delicacies.
The menu essentially focusses on healthy, seasonal and authentic offerings catering to all palates. Each dish stands true to the concept of ‘Art on Plate’ and is a masterpiece in itself with a hint of exotic flavours and rustic ingredients. The world-class gourmet paradise at Varq reflects flavours of India in a contemporary way, while keeping the authenticity alive.
While the menu still features its signature delicacies like the Palak Patta Chaat and the Varqui Crab, it also offers patrons fresh flavours with unique pairings of Vedic Tisane’s or Herbal teas. Its new avatar features scrumptious delights like the Jasmine and Gin Prawn Tikka, Flower Chaat, Chicken Potli Masala Broth, the Duck Confit, Varq Garden Green, Panchdhaan Khichada, Dhungar ke Kebab amongst many . The selection of desserts include the Flavours of Yoghurt and the Trio of Indian Ice Creams and a host of bread preparations from different flours like the Mandua Roti, Gluten-free roti’s, Bajra ki Missi and the Khameeri Roti.
