Spiritual Luxury Tastings – Enjoyed the Talisker 30 YO, on the weekend. Whilst this peppery malt has always been a favourite, but the 18 YO and now the 30 YO, accorded a different experience altogether. Initially a bold nose gives in to warm peppery palate, smooth & sleek, with cereal over tones. Drop of chilled water open up the nose, but also expose the formidable taste. It pairs well with pork chops and creamy & cheesy Brocolli. A generous 60 ml with a few drops of chilled water open the 45.8% ABV gently and lovingly. A Might malt, it commands over the taste buds and opens up slowly, with layers and layers of aroma, showcasing its 30 years of exposure to storms and sunshine, on the elusive island of Isle of Skye.
