Glenmorangie – A Tale of Cake – this Whisky was made to evoke memories of cake and the notes and flavours associated with it. Initially matured in bourbon barrels, before being shifted to Tokaji Wine casks to acquire the delicious cake notes. The resulting Whisky is bursting with vanilla and fruity notes while also having Complexity and depth on the palate.
Nose: initially, orchard fruits, acacia honey and creamy vanilla, quickly followed by Sweet Citrus fruits. Then there’s white chocolate with a little mint.
Palate: the palate has slightly more wood notes which provide a nice contrast to the more fruity notes like tinned peaches, orange chocolate, apricot and some more vanilla.
Finish: The Lingering finish has notes of orange, honeycomb and pear.
Aberlour 18YO – it is an 18 year old single malt made in the Highlands of Speyside. A little heavy on the sherry expression this single malt is perfect for a late evening dram.
Nose: Creamy, vanilla ice cream, honeyed and fruity.
Palate: Initially there arenotes of apples and juicy oranges followed by sherry with subtle notes of sultana and vanilla
Finish: Oily caramel notes with Chocolate Raisins.
Paul John PX – Produced in the Tropical Climate of Goa where it first ages for 5 years in 1st fill ex Bourbon barrels before resting for 2 years in its namesake, the Pedro Ximenez Barrels.
Nose: Raisins, Baking Spices, Christmas cake, Orange Zest, Fig and iris Flower.
Palate: It has a mouth filling and creamy texture owing to notes of cinnamon, Butterscotch, Tokai Wine, Praline, chocolate and nut cookies.
Finish: it has a long and warm finish with final notes of pepper, cinnamon and Sweet Ginger.
Amrut Spectrum – It starts out in bourbon barrels before finishing in casks made from 4 types of oak (New American Oak, New French Oak, Oloroso Sherry Oak staves, Pedro Ximenes sherry Oak staves)
Nose: It has a wholly Christmas feel to it with notes of Marzipan, Christmas Biscuits, red fruit and Cigar box.
Palate: Liquorice, chili chocolate, Cedar, Caramelized banana and nutmeg
Finish: Raisins, Dried Pear and a Hint of Hibiscus.
Toki Whisky – it is a blended Whisky which comes from 3 of Suntory’s Distilleries, Hakushu, Chita and Yamazaki, with the main ingredients being Chita Grain Whisky and Hakushu Single Malt.
Nose: Soft Orchard Fruits, Thyme and Honey are followed by a hint of peppermint.
Palate: Green apple and Pink Grapefruit dominate the palate while bitter herbs, Toasted almonds and oak linger underneath.
Finish: The Finish is Spicy owing to the White pepper and ginger notes.
Yamazaki Distillers Edition– This single malt is from the Yamazaki distillery. It is bursting with superb red berry notes, gained from the whisky being matured in Bordeaux wine casks and Sherry casks. It also features malt matured in Mizunara casks, adding subtle fragrant oak notes.
Nose: Strawberries and Dried Fruit with underlying floral notes and some fragrant sandalwood.
Palate: Light Oak, white peach and a little bit of spice are showcased well with the subtle berry notes still lingering.
Finish: Top notes of vanilla and spices along with a hint of cinnamon to finish things off.
Spaca Skiren– it gets its name from the Norse work for Glittering Sky. Matured in First Fill American Oak casks whish add the vanilla and honey notes to this whisky.
Nose: Honey and Fresh cream, apple and hints of anise, and some nuts towards the end.
Palate: the honey continues to the palate with pear and light citrus, the touch of oak brings some spice to balance out the palate.
Finish: Sweet and medium length finish with a lasting oak.
Bowmore 15YO– from the Distillery is Islay and finished in Sherry casks, the whisky has a rich sweetness that blends well with the peaty elements.
Nose: Dark and strong with sherry notes, raisins, spices, sweet dates and creamy mochaccino.
Palate: Rich Woody and Syrupy with notes of pine oil, creamy toffee and smoky malt.
Finish: Spicy, sherry, barley and toffee
Johnnie Walker Blue Label – Ghost and Rare – Alongside the long lost Glenury Royal’s single malt, master blender Dr. Jim Beveridge used malts from Pittyvaich, Glen Elgin, Inchgower, Glenlossie, and Glenkinchie, as well as grains from Cambus and Cameronbridge to build out the expression.
Nose: Pears, Peach and a hint of tart from the green apple with olive oil and toffee notes.
Palate: Sherry shines through along with dried fruit and cinnamon. It develops a floral lightness while still being enjoyably oily.
Finish: Elements of Pastry, apple, Black Pepper and chocolate linger.
Ballantine’s 15YO – Glenburgie– it comes from the Glenburgie distillery and is one of the three single malts released by the brand. According to the brand itself this single malt makes up the heart of the Ballantine’s blend and thus is reminiscent of the classic Ballantine’s Flavour.
Nose: Red apples bring sweetness, balanced with blackcurrants along with sweet honeycomb and candy.
Palate: Full and Creamy mouth feel with a velvety texture. The sweetness of fruity orange also shines bright.
Finish: long and rounded finish with Fruity sweetness.
Yamazaki 12YO–hailing from japans first and oldest single malt distillery this whisky has wonderful, smooth and elegant. It has somewhat of a cult following owing to its history and definitely the flavor.
Nose: notes of Peach, pineapple, grapefruit and orange come through along with cloves vanilla and Japanese oak.
Palate: Sweet and rich coconut with tart cranberry.
Finish: Long finish with spices like ginger and cinnamon.
Michter’s Rye Whiskey– Distilled in Louisville, Kentucky. Each bottle of this whisky comes from a single barrel, showcasing the dedication to their craft.
Nose: Cream Candies, Dry Wood and Spicy Rye along with just a splash of blackcurrant
Palate: Dried Orange Peel and ginger, followed by buttered corn, brown sugar, cherry, hickory and cumin.
Finish: Caramel, Cinnamon, peppercorn and apples.
